Small-ticket credit for traders and households

Micro-
Financing

Small-ticket credit for traders, shopkeepers, hawkers and self-employed households — the customers this street was built on. Modest sums, short tenures, frequent repayment, and a relationship that often runs for decades across many loans.

Who this is for

The vegetable seller who needs stock money on Monday and repays through the week. The shopkeeper covering a festival season purchase. The tailor buying a machine. These are the borrowers Sowcarpet has always financed, and they are the reason this business exists.

Conduct

These are the borrowers most likely to be treated badly by a lender. We hold ourselves to the recovery conduct in our Fair Practices Code without exception — no calling at odd hours, no involving neighbours or relatives, no intimidation of any kind. If anyone acting for us does otherwise, tell us and we will act on it.

Common questions

How small a loan will you make?

Small. This is a business built on small loans and we are not embarrassed by them.

Do I need a guarantor?

[State your policy.]

What if I miss an instalment?

Tell us. A missed instalment discussed is a scheduling problem. A missed instalment avoided becomes a recovery problem, which is worse for both of us.

Rates, charges and eligibility are indicative and subject to our credit assessment. The figures that bind us are those in your sanction letter. See our Interest Rate Policy and Fair Practices Code.
